Best Work Pants for Women- that ACTUALLY fit!

If you’re like me, trying on business pants is a dreadful task. I always get to the register, defeated, and after seeing my total and walking away, it dawns on me I’ll have to spend another price per pair of pant to get tailored to actually fit me properly. It’s depressing.

I want to share with you my go-to business pants after YEARS of trial and error. My personal problem is that if the pants fit good in the thigh/booty area (i.e., not too tight) then they are WAY too loose in the waist, and often hang off of me.

*side note: the only pants below that I have purchased full price are the ones from Target, but the other pairs are from the same retailer and go on major sale multiple times a year.

#1: Devon Legging-fit Pants are my absolute favorite pants I have ever purchased for work. They are a tighter fit, which I personally love because I have a smaller frame and wide leg pants often make me look like I’m in a potato sack. They don’t look like leggings at all and are a very thick, stretchy material, and I literally sit “indian-style” in my desk chair all day in these. They hit me perfectly on the ankle, I get a regular length and I am 5’4”, and they also come in short and long. My favorite thing about them is they are high waisted, so I’m never checking the back of them when I’m sitting down to see if they are sticking out and showing my undies because #gross. They have a double closure on the left front side, with a button and a clasp like usual, and the zipper is on the left front side as well and blends into a seam that goes all the way down your leg which makes the pants look more professional. I got these on a whim in black last year when they were on sale, and was so obsessed I couldn’t wait to get them in navy on sale a month ago! They will be on sale around the holidays, so these are my number one recommendation!

#2: Sloan pants are some of the most loved pants on the retailers website, and I own about 4-5 pair, but honestly I think the mid-rise factor make them annoying for me. I have fallen in love with the high rise pants so much that I can barely wear my normal mid rise pants, but I linked the new “modern” fit sloans for you, because they are supposed to have a higher rise! These pants are super comfy and also ankle length, although they are not as long as the Devons. These were my go-to pants before I met the Devons, and still love them, so I am adding them to this post!

#3: These black ankle pants have been my favorites for years. I bought the same pair in early college, and loved them so much that I have had the zipper in the back reinforced 3 times LOL. I recently bought a second pair to replace the last ones, but these have been updated. The fabric is a bit different, but it’s still super stretchy and comfortable to wear all day. They are high rise as well, and the zipper in the ones I received is completely gone, instead they are just pull on but somehow magically fit me in the waist and hips perfectly. These pants are magic pants I’m telling you! If you read the reviews, obviously the retailer doesn’t have consistency when it comes to these pants, but you can’t go wrong. The overall fit in both pairs I received was the exact same, although some things were different in the new pair.
