Productivity Tip of the Week
Stop procrastinating! I procrastinated writing this all day- it’s 9pm and I just started typing this out. I didn’t even realize I was procrastinating until I thought to myself, why am I so motivated to clean the house? No joke, I cleaned the kitchen, changed out my wax melts and discarded the melted wax, cut the last bit of a candle up to use as wax melts later, took a shower, cleaned the shower, thought about changing the sheets (that’s when I realized what was happening), put an oil mask in my hair, did a face mask, and put away laundry. All of that just to procrastinate doing this and I wasn’t even dreading this or anything!
Notice when you are procrastinating as well and stop- get that one thing done that you need to get done first thing, and then enjoy the rest of your day. Don’t do like I’m doing now!
Motivational/Inspirational Message of the Week
Exercise! Today is a prime example: I’m sitting at my desk around 3pm. I had my workout clothes on (that’s what I put on in the mornings to encourage myself to workout later) and I’m working, and I start to realize I am hungry and I want Alfredo sauce and noodles. My mouth starts watering but then I remember I haven’t yet worked out, so I decided since it’s a pretty day to go on a walk with the dog, nothing serious, just a few minutes. Then I would come home and do a 20 minute workout and then I’ll get to eat my Alfredo!
Well- I go on a walk, and enjoy myself so much I ended up doing 2 miles in 35 minutes which is a pretty good pace. Then I come home winded and feeling amazing, so I decided to have a fruit protein smoothie instead of my Alfredo.
That’s when I realized how important every decision is. And if you commit to one small action, you will put yourself in a good place to make better decisions after that. Like a decision tree!
Jewelry of the Week
I went to Raleigh last weekend and the only jewelry I took with me was this ring, these bracelets, and this watch band. All of these pieces can be purchased on Amazon which is even better! The watch band specifically is my favorite purchase and my most worn item. I love the mixed metal (especially because my watch is rose gold) and it dresses up the watch so much!
Outfit Favorites of the Week
My trusty lululemon aligns were a definite favorite all last week. I love the sleek coziness and all the colors they come in. They really are my most worn item, but especially this past week. I’ve also loved these Amazon slippers! They make a great gift (they are on my gift guide for her!) and are so soft with added memory foam for the plushness. The price is unbeatable too!
New YouTube Video
I had a hiccup with my laptop storage, so I am going to have one up later this week (probably tomorrow!) and then another next Monday. Expect 2 in next weeks blog post!
I’ve been busy making a ton more videos for the coming weeks! Get excited for my closet purge vlog, TWO Amazon fall/winter hauls, and lots more fashion/productivity content!
Books I’m Loving
I had a goal to finish Atomic Habits last week, but I ended up reading an entire different book in just 2 days! I read Period Repair Manual and learned so much about hormonal birth control and a woman’s natural cycle. It was so liberating and educational and honestly I get so worked up when I think about how we are not taught these things in school! I also started In the FLO which is another period and hormone book, but it actually teaches you how to “bio hack” as a female and get the most done during a certain phase of your cycle.
I highly recommend those books to EVERY female. I’ll be finishing Atomic Habits this week as well for sure, because I’m over halfway done and I’ve been reading it on top of the other two!
Anything Else I have to tell you!
Im so in the zone when it comes to understanding your hormones and your body as a woman. I can’t believe how much I just did not know how about your cycle and how important ovulation is, even if you’re not trying to conceive. I have dived head first into this world of information and I’m obsessed to say the least. Thinking about changing my entire life and career path and going into naturopathy with a women’s health focus?!?
