Weekly Happening- May 29

Happy Memorial Day weekend! Please remember those who have died serving our country. Having a Monday off is meant for celebration that we are given the freedoms we are given, but it comes at a hefty price and those military families pay that price- remember those who have fallen so we can have cookouts and speak freely!

Productivity Tip of the Week

I have Monday off like many people do, and I will be spending it being productive! Rest days are super important, and mine was Saturday. If you have tomorrow off, make the most of it! Don’t waste the day on your phone or on social media, but spend it with your loved ones if possible and get out of bed at a reasonable time to get things done. I love holidays because I get up at the same time I would if it was work day, and I use my morning to get ahead for the day off, and then I can spend the rest of the day relaxed knowing I got all my important tasks done!

Motivational/Inspirational Message of the Week

Time seems to go faster the older you get- maybe there’s a reason for that? Maybe time feels like it’s so precious because it is. This week, I want you to focus on how you are using your time. If you are spending more time than you’d like scrolling on social media, make an effort to set time constraints on your phone for those apps. Or just be more aware of how you are spending your time, and remember that every one of us have the same hours in a day. Somehow, those super successful people are getting way more done. They probably have better time management skills because they weren’t given an extra few hours! It’s completely fair- all you have to do is discipline yourself and stick to your goals and routines- it’s not difficult, it’s just not the easiest option, and that makes it feel like it’s harder than it is.

Outfit Favorites of the Week

I just placed a large dress order from Abercrombie’s Memorial Day sale:

This past week I’ve had a few favorites:

  • This nightgown from Target has been perfect- I have it in black and I got an XS and it’s the perfect size. It’s oversized but still feminine; and it’s SO soft and comfy to wear to bed and around the house before bed and in the mornings.

  • Lululemon align shorts- these things are on repeat so much I just bought a navy pair and I am predicting that Lululemon will release them in the “sonic pink” color I’ve been lusting over since last summer, so I’m stalking Lululemon’s website for that release to buy them! I can’t get enough of these shorts and the 6” is the perfect length for me- but they also have 8” and I believe 10” if you like longer ones!

  • Linen tops- these button up tops are the freaking BEST for spring and summer- I have the H&M one in a bright coral color (wearing it in my YouTube video) and the Target one I have in white. I love both of them but the Target one is slightly more oversized, but they are both equally as soft and comfy and lightweight.

Books I’m Loving

I’m still reading the Blue Moon novels, but I am honestly getting bored of the cutesy romance novels. I loved them in the winter when I was cozied up inside but I’ve felt a shift after the sixth book in the series and I’ve got to take a break! Relationships with a male are not that freaking perfect and sexy and maybe that’s why people love romance novels but I can only indulge so much before I roll my eyes while reading.  Luckily I’m in love with my marriage and my life enough that fiction and romance novels only appeal to me in small doses. SO, I recently purchased a psychological thriller to read! I’m very excited for the exciting change in pace and something to keep my attention so I’ll be diving into The Couple Next Door this week!
