Weekly Happening- July 3

Productivity Tip of the Week

Getting back to the basics here, writing everything down in a planner is my favorite way to make a list of things I need to do this week.  I go back and forth between my planner and my phone, but there is something about writing down a to-do list each day and physically crossing those things off that feels really great.  It holds you more accountable when you make that mind-to-body connection of writing down your to-do list on paper.

The important part is to remember to keep checking your to-do list throughout the day and each evening so you make sure to accomplish those tasks and not just forget about them.

Motivational/Inspirational Message of the Week

We are officially halfway through the year.  This week marks the first week of the second half of 2022.  If you’re like me, your goals may need some tweaking from the New Year, and if you’re lucky you can go ahead and cross off some of those goals! I’m not the lucky one in that scenario.

You have two choices when you reach the halfway point of the year- you can choose to be stressed out and sad that you may not have accomplished what you wanted so far. We only have half the year left, or you can choose to be excited for the new kick in the booty to put 110% of your efforts into your goals since we still have half a year left!

Outfit Favorites of the Week

The Nordstrom Anniversary sale starts in the next 2 weeks, and it’s something I shop every year, but only for a few items.  I will be sharing a few purchases during the next 2 weeks on my Instagram, so make sure to follow me (@thejesstayls) there!

This week I also got the famous Nike sweatshirt in a hot pink color and I LOVE it.  I’m really stocking up on my sweatshirts because now that I’m working from home, I wore one every single day last fall and winter and you can never have too many! I sized up to a small, and I don’t think I needed to do that but I love the extra roomy feel it gives me.

A summer staple is this white linen button-down from Target. I have worn it so many times already and it’s not too heavy and hot to wear in July, but also keeps you warm when walking in a heavily air-conditioned place!

Books I’m Loving

Last week I read The Mingling of Souls, which is about intimacy and marriage as a Christian.  I thought it was beautifully written.
