Welcome to my blog- where I share everything with you!

Enjoy!

April 2024

SPRING IS HERE!! I don’t know about you but I certainly come ALIVE when spring temperatures start to steady out and the sun is out more. Seasonal depression is something so many of us struggle with and while I don’t have true seasonal depression, I think most of us experience an elevation in our moods when spring and summer get closer. If you are like this too, we are completely normal and this is so common!

I have some exciting YouTube content coming up; I’m in the middle of filming my spring reset vlog which I am so excited to share. I feature a full deep spring clean and some fun spring activities to get us in the mood for spring. I am also editing a huge Abercrombie & Fitch spring haul which makes me so excited because if you know me, you know there are few things I enjoy as much as shopping for a new season!

I am also planning on filming my new spring morning routine, which I discuss at length in my April Reset Video (below). I let a few things slide in March and I feel more motivated than ever to start fresh in April!

Watch my April reset video below to hear about my goals for April and how I’m resetting for a new month.

Books I read last month:

All books linked here to shop through Amazon

  • Iron Flame by Rebecca Yarrow

    • Rated 4/5 stars- Book 2 of the Fourth Wing series. I wasn’t as into this book as I was the first one, but the end is such a cliffhanger! I guess the author is planning a third book and I will definitely read that one. I guess it’s just fantasy in general that I find hard to follow sometimes since the language is foreign but overall I love this series!

    • Some of my highlights:

      • “I miss what I thought my life would be. Simple. Quiet. Noble. But I don’t miss the woman I was, the one who didn’t know her strength. The one who believed everything she read with unfailing confidence, as if the simple act of writing something on a blank page made it gospel.”

      • “What you want to be doesn’t change what you are without work.”'

      • “The problem with mankind is we too often find our souls to be a fair price for power.”

      • “I love you. The world does not exist for me beyond you.”

  • The House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Kline

    • Rated 3/5 stars- A fantasy book about magical children who are put in orphanages, and a man who works for the DICOMY (department in charge of magical youth) who goes to investigate the orphanage ran by another magical being on an island. Honestly at first I was not into this book but I found it SO charming. I loved the cheesy life lessons in the book and it felt like a children’s book for adults. I loved getting to use my imagination to create this island and the children in my mind and loved getting lost in it. It was a sweet read and I’m looking forward to the next one!! The reason I rated it 3 stars is because I wasn’t as into it as other books, but I feel it’s truly a 3.5 in my ratings.

    • Some of my highlights:

      • “The things we fear the most are often the things we should fear the least. It’s irrational, but it’s what makes us human. And if we’re able to conquer those fears, then there is nothing we’re not capable of.”

      • “Change often starts with the smallest of whispers. Like-minded people building it up to a roar.”

      • “I listened to the earth. It sings. Most people don’t realize that. You have to listen for it with all your might. Some will never hear it, no matter how hard they try. But I can hear it as well as I can hear you.”

      • “Time never stopped, though it often felt elastic.”

      • “Hate is loud, but I think you’ll learn it’s because it’s only a few people shouting, desperate to be heard. You might not ever be able to change their minds, but so long as you remember you’re not alone, you will overcome.”

      • “We are who we are not because of our birthright, but because of what we choose to do in this life.”

  • The Danish Way of Parenting by Jessica Alexander & Ben Sandahl

    • Rated 2/5 stars- While there are some good tips for parenting in this book, I didn’t find it very solution oriented. For example, it discusses why they believe spanking is bad, but doesn’t really go into what to do when a parent feels there is no other option but to spank. I enjoyed learning about some of the Danish ways of raising children, and I did enjoy their philosophies in raising children to be self sufficient and happy people, but I didn’t find that I would be able to actually use this as a tool when my day comes to be a parent. By the way, I don’t plan on being a parent anytime soon but I do enjoy learning about parenting and pregnancy because I hope to experience it one day and I like to prepare as much as possible. My husband and I are very much planners!
