Weekly Happenings- April 3
Prince’s 5th Birthday was April 1st! Here’s a little video I made for him:
Productivity Tip of the Week
This week’s tip is vastly different from usual- but my productivity tip of the week is something that helps me stay motivated when I am feeling really unmotivated. I bribe myself! As long as something is financially within your means, I see nothing wrong with promising yourself a nice treat to reward yourself after completing an important task. For example: something I want to improve on this coming week is getting out of bed and sticking to a morning routine that includes mediation, journaling, a workout, and stretching before anything else. If I can do that, I’ll allow myself a certain item I’ve been dreaming about at Lululemon ;)
The trick is to stay true to that, and if you can, include an accountability partner. I’ll tell my husband exactly what my plan is, and I’ll tell him to keep me accountable. Technically he can’t stop me from buying that item even if I don’t meet my goal, but I’m sure as heck not going to feel great about it if I cheated and he knows about it!
Motivational/Inspirational Message of the Week
Don’t compare yourself to anyone else on social media or in your life. If you look at someone and think, “oh they are so perfect. They are always motivated and so productive and I just can’t ever be that good” I promise you’re wrong. Stop following them and watching them, and focus on what you can control in your everyday reality. Someone else’s highlight reel is something they have filmed and edited and I guarantee you every single day is not identical to their “5AM Productive ‘That Girl’ Routine” where they get a billion things done before 8am. As long as you are focused on bettering yourself each day, you’re doing amazing and you should celebrate that.
Outfit Favorites of the Week
OMG the Scuba hoodie from Lululemon- I have literally worn this hoodie every single day since I bought it. It’s disgusting. And, I loved it so much, I caved and bought another one but in a funnel neck version without a hood. I actually prefer the funnel neck version because I can wear my hair down with it and it looks more put together, but these dang hoodies are amazing and the coziest things ever. I have the funnel neck in “White Opal” size XS/S, and the hoodie in “Mineral Blue” in size M/L.

Books I’m Loving
I’m still reading the 8 part series from Lucy Score called Blue Moon and I’m loving it so far. It’s 8 novels, all over 300 pages and super cute, light books to read. I finished book 1 “No More Secrets (Blue Moon Book 1)” this week and gave it 7/10. I’m now on to the second book and love it just as much! These are perfect pool and beach reads which makes me really excited for summer!
Anything Else I have to tell you!
I may write these newsletters, but I find it really difficult to stick to my goals every singe day. I write these mainly because I enjoy a reflection and a goal setting session before a new week begins, and I hope you do too! I find the only way to stay motivated and productive comes to self discipline but also grace with yourself. You can meet your goals every day, but depending on how high you’ve set the bar, it may mean you are killing yourself to get them all done. It’s never too late to re-evaluate what is really important and makes you happy each day.
