Weekly Happening- June 19
Happy Father’s day! I am thinking of those of you who no longer have a father Earth-side, and those who may not have a relationship with your father. And if you do have a good relationship with him, I hope you make him feel special today!
I skipped last week’s newsletter and skipped uploading a new YouTube video because our best friend’s dad passed completely unexpectedly last Thursday. We dropped everything and stayed with their family all weekend and had the memorial service on Sunday. He was the most joyful man and father and threw my husband and me the most incredible wedding shower, and we aren’t even biologically related to them. He was like a father to my husband so we are left with a huge hole in our hearts and so is everyone else who knew him. I ask that this weekend, since it is fathers day, please keep our friends in your thoughts and prayers.
Productivity Tip of the Week
I am restarting a bit- we are in wedding season now and traveling a lot more on weekends, so I haven’t stuck to my morning routine lately. This is understandable, but I urge you to keep up with your morning routine if you can no matter where you travel to. This coming week, I’m focusing on sticking to my morning routine no matter where we are and continue to make it a habit. My days are truly so much better and more productive when I stick to that morning routine.
Motivational/Inspirational Message of the Week
We are halfway through the year- crazy, right? How are your goals looking? I check in on the progress of my goals quarterly, but when we get halfway through the year I really start to kick it into a higher gear if I still have not made the progress I’m supposed to. It’s nowhere close to “too late” if you have not made as much progress as you wanted to by now. What’s important is to not give up on your goals if they are still important to you. Make a plan for the rest of the year. It’s only 6 more months and you’re already almost halfway there!
Outfit Favorites of the Week
I wore this Abercrombie dress to a wedding and I loved it! It is so flirty and girly because of the layers, and it is so flattering. I wore fashion tape that I got from Amazon and my new pasties. The pasties are identical to the Nippies brand which are $25 for one pair, and these were only $16 for 6 pairs! They are stickier too, and actually a little larger. What I love about these is the edges are so incredibly thin that they cannot be seen through a tight, thin shirt.
For staying at home during work and traveling, I’m living in Lululemon align shorts and the align bra. The align bra is reversible, and I just added the mineral blue/true navy to my collection last week. I wear the align shorts almost daily because they are so comfy and easy to do my pilates in.

Books I’m Loving
I just finished The Couple Next Door and it was INCREDIBLE. I could not put the book down! I read it in 3 days and I was hooked from the first page. A couple is at a dinner party when their newborn baby goes missing. There were so many twists and turns and just when you thought you had it all figured out, a plot twist would enter from way left field. I highly recommend this book! Now, I’m on book 7 of the Blue Moon series and enjoying it! The entire Blue Moon series is great for pool reading or beach reading.
Anything Else I have to tell you!
I shared this smoothie recipe 2 weeks ago, but I am not exaggeration when I say I’ve had one of these every single day that we are home for 3 weeks now. I’m obsessed and it is delicious and filling!
Strawberry Shortcake Smoothie:
5-6 Frozen Strawberries
1/2 Frozen Banana
2 Cups Almond Milk (unsweetened vanilla)
2 Scoops Orgain Simple Creamy Vanilla Protein Powder
1 TBSP Almond Butter (no sugar added)
1/2 TBSP Maca Powder (optional)
1 TBSP Flax Seeds (ground or whole)
3 Dates, pitted
Blend and enjoy! I am obsessed with this smoothie and made it every day last week- it’s delicious and I love the little chunks of date in it. Trust me- it’s so delicious! This recipe was from Sam Ozkural but I modified it just a little.
Xoxo, Jess
